Fiesta Frenzy Motorsport (FFM) / Area 6 were created in 1995 by Ian Howell.

Fiesta Frenzy is not a Garage with ramp services. It is not a mail order establishment. It is Ian's hobby - his need for speed. Asked what the most useful tools the owner used, he replied 'my calculator, my flow bench, my torque wrench, my dti and a set of internal callipers, without just one of the above my conversions would be just the same as every other tuners'.

Having been dis-satisfied by the service and level of knowledge displayed by many British tuners, Ian set about turning that situation on it's head. He does not consider himself a 'Tuner', just a well informed regular guy who's only in the game to win, not to earn (that's what the day job is for!).

As a result, you have been provided with the 1.8, 2.0 & 2.1 ZE-VH (a name you all know, but did anyone ever question who named it that??), the ultimate Zetec Turbo's, functional Chip packages, adaptation of the Fiesta RST Ecu to allow turbocharging of any 36-1 Ford, adaptation of the Rover Inlet manifold to permit tidier Zetec engine bays, and the newest product for Zetec turbo's, our 'Zero Loss' intake system which boosts output by over 30hp.

It started with his 1991 Red Fiesta RST (better known as H634) which each and every conversion was tested in, from Dyno to drag strip, using the same car meant results could be compared.1996 saw the 1.6 CVH in it's heyday - 1/4 mile in 13.57 @ 108.2 mph Spring 1997 - 1.8 ZE-VH - 256 bhp, 1/4 mile in 13.59 @ 109.1 mph, timed at 147 mph by Fast Car mag Summer 1997 - 2.1 ZE-VH - 275 bhp, 1/4 mile in 13.43 @ 111.7 mph. Also entered 0-100-0 test - 0-100 in 12.1s. This was 6 years ago, not this last summer! Summer 1998 - 2.0 Zetec Turbo on throttle bodies (the beast Unleashed)Entered 1 event, but destroyed LSD on first launch - could only manage 13.99 @ 114 mph with 1 wheel drive & 22 psi boost! Summer 1999 - 2.1 Zetec Turbo on Rover inlet & 2wd! 13.15 @ 117.4mph using 20 Psi. Autumn 2000 - Performance Ford Shoot-out - Car wheelspun upto 85 mph @20 psi. 0-100 of 12.06s. Grip to be addressed!! Summer 2001 - Fiesta's last day out - REVS Mag - Brand new 8 inj, BV head, big turbo, plate diff. Hoped for good things, but grip had almost vanished. Only took one run at the 1/4 mile - 16.0 sec, but at 119.7 mph. Car was running at only 17psi, but the black lines could be seen coming from under her as she crossed the horizon. Mental!!

Ian's Fiesta was sold (minus engine) and Sunny took up the challenge for fastest FWD. Sunny realises that you can't go forward without taking an occasional step backwards, which is why his spec changes so frequently - we are still pushing the Zetec's beyond their design scope, and with every push comes a new lesson learnt. Watch this space!

Fiesta Frenzy have also forged a partnership with Ahmed Bayjoo of A.B. Engineering to provide exclusive Ford & Pectel engine management packages to suit every specification offered, keeping their customers one step ahead of the competition. The Autronic management (as fitted to Sunny's Fiesta) is also now available through the UK distributor, M. A. Developments.

Ian can be contacted any evening between 18.00 and 20.30 hrs (GMT), or at weekends on +44 (0) 1522 877887. Call during the day and you'll only get his wife!
